Busy bees use a lot of energy
and like humans, they get tired if they run out of it!
The problem for bees, unlike humans is that if they go without food for more than 40 minutes they can die!
What can we do to help?
The simplest and easiest way is to give a tired bee a few drops of sugar syrup!
If you see a bee on the ground and not moving, there are three possibilities:
1. It's resting
2. It needs help.
3. Unfortunately, it's dead.
Our very special tube is made from solid anodised aluminium so it won't break if you drop it. It has an O ring to ensure it can't leak if you keep it in your pocket, bag or on your keyring.
What do we need to give them? A simple sugar solution. You don't need to make up very much, half a teaspoon of granulated sugar dissolved in half a teaspoon of hot water is plenty to fill the tube and that will be enough to rescue a few bees.
No need to buy "special" food!
